I’m John Parker, a musician and teacher from England, and I’ve been living in Paris for over a decade. Music has been part of my life since I was a child – I started violin at 7, sang in choirs, played in orchestras, and later taught myself guitar and began writing songs.

After ten very happy years as a primary school teacher, I made the decision in 2020 to devote myself fully to music. Since then, I’ve been teaching violin, guitar, piano, and music theory to students of all ages, performing in orchestras and jazz groups, and recording my own music.

I started Band Academy because I believe in the power of music – not just as a form of expression, but as a way to learn how to listen, collaborate, reflect, and grow. I want to create a space where teenagers can discover their voice, support one another, and experience the joy of making music together.
